What's the best pool cover?
The best pool cover for effective, long-lasting protection is undoubtedly a PVC pool cover. This tarpaulin material guarantees you a high-quality, versatile and above all extremely weather-resistant pool cover.
HDP pool covers: for smaller budgets
The HDP pool cover is a low-cost pool cover. Its high-density polyethylene material makes it less expensive. A HDPE pool cover is also more flexible and lighter than PVC. HDP pool covers are resistant to weathering, climatic variations and UV rays. Its technical characteristics mean it can be used as a summer cover or a winter pool cover.
PVC pool cover: optimum protection
The best way to provide lasting protection for your pool in winter and summer alike is to buy PVC pool cover . The PVC material makes it the most resistant to extreme weather conditions (temperature variations, frost, wind, rain, UV ...). When should you cover your pool?
It's crucial to know when to cover your pool, so you can both enjoy the temperature of your pool and protect the water.
As a general rule, we recommend that you install your pool cover in late spring (every night) to retain accumulated heat and reduce evaporation during the day. For winter, we recommend that you cover your pool at the end of summer/beginning of autumn, as soon as the swimming season is over.
How do I install a pool cover?
Installing a pool cover can vary depending on the type of cover you use. Here are some general tips to help you:
- Prepare the water surface : make sure the water surface is clean and free of debris before installing the cover.
- Position the cover : deploy the pool cover over the water surface, making sure it covers the entire pool.
- Attach the cover : depending on the type of cover, use appropriate fastening systems such as bungee cords. For a bubble cover, make sure it floats properly; for a bar cover, install the bars and tighten the fasteners; for a winter cover, use anchors and tensioners.
- Check tension : make sure the tarpaulin is properly tensioned, leaving no creases or gaps where debris can collect.
- Regular maintenance : clean your tarpaulin regularly to prevent the accumulation of dirt and debris. Also check fasteners and anchors to make sure they're still in good condition.
